NEWSFLASH!!! - Gun rights win again - Samuel Alito writes for 5-4 majority - Chicago gun ban struck down!

in

God bless the U.S. Supreme Court majority in McDonald v. Chicago - 08-1521 (2010), which consisted of Justice Samuel Alito writing for the majority, who was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Anthony Kennedy. The dissenting opinions consisted of Justices John Paul Stevens, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Sonia Sotomayor - all four apparently opposed to the traditional American concepts of individual freedom and effective self-defense. Stephens wrote his own dissenting opinion and did not join Breyer's. Ginsberg and Sotomayor joined Breyer.

Hey Obama! Remember when, in all your low-class narcissistic Chicago-smart-aleck glory, you tried to intimidate the Supremes at your State-of-the-Union message? Well, it looks like Alito got the last laugh after all, doesn't it? Back at ya smarty pants!

Thanks to the true-to-the-provable-intent-of-the-Founders Heller and McDonald decisions, the American people KNOW the universal natural right of self-defense and the 2nd Amendment right to own and bear arms are INDIVIDUAL rights, not collective "gubmint" rights of the State. Contrary to some worry warts, as a practical matter, it wouldn't matter if a fascistic liberal majority later overruled Heller and McDonald. Thanks to the Internet, everybody knows all this crap is just "political" anyway. So, even if Heller and McDonald were later overruled, the reaction of the American public, who are in possession of some 600 million guns, would simply be "screw the gubmint, we know what the truth is!" Now you can see why the scum in gubmint has decided to give the Prez the "emergency" (oh, of course) power to shut down the Internet. The Internet makes it possible for the "little people" (aka hoi polloi) to communicate and network 24 x 7 in REAL time. Fascistic, neo-feudalist, treasonous-to-the-Bill-of-Rights gubmint (like Obama et al) can't afford to allow that. The peasants might mount an effective political and/or armed resistance to the regime's totalitarian, neo-feudalitic, fiat-money-monopoly agenda.

In the last paragraph of his magnificent concurring opinion, while surgically eviscerating Justice Steven's dissenting opinion, Scalia clearly infers that the Supremes have usurped power from the people in sneaky ways such as lying about history. Here is that last paragraph which shows why, even with all their faults, I prefer the Right to the Left:

“And the Court’s approach intrudes less upon the democratic process because the rights it acknowledges are those established by a constitutional history formed by democratic decisions; and the rights it fails to acknowledge are left to be democratically adopted or rejected by the people, with the assurance that their decision is not subject to judicial revision. JUSTICE STEVENS’ approach, on the other hand, deprives the people of that power, since whatever the Constitution and laws may say, the list of protected rights will be whatever courts wish it to be. After all, he notes, the people have been wrong before, post, at 55, and courts may conclude they are wrong in the future. JUSTICE STEVENS abhors a system in which ‘majorities or powerful interest groups always get their way,’ post, at 56, but replaces it with a system in which unelected and life-tenured judges always get their way. That such usurpation is effected unabashedly, see post, at 53 —with ‘the judge’s cards . . . laid on the table,’ ibid. — makes it even worse. In a vibrant democracy, usurpation should have to be accomplished in the dark. It is JUSTICE STEVENS’ approach, not the Court’s, that puts democracy in peril.”

Supreme Court Overturns Chicago Gun Ban - The Provocateur - "This ruling finally ends all constitutional debates on the second amendment. It's an individual right to bear arms and it applies to everyone and can't be infringed on by anyone."

Supreme Court extends gun rights to states - Washington Times - "2nd Amendment trumps local laws"

EDITORIAL: The new battleground for gun rights - Washington Times - "It is worth noting that Justice Sonia Sotomayor joined in the dissent penned by Justice Stephen G. Breyer, which explained that they can find nothing in the Second Amendment's text, history or underlying rationale that could warrant characterizing it as "fundamental," insofar as it seeks to protect the keeping and bearing of arms for private self-defense purposes.' Compare that to Justice Sotomayor's claims before the Senate Judiciary Committee during the confirmation process. Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, Vermont Democrat, asked if she agreed that 'the Supreme Court decided in Heller that the personal right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the Constitution against federal law restrictions.' Ms. Sotomayor answered: 'It is.'" - Looks like old Sonia baby is a bit of a liar, doesn't it?

Justices Say Gun Rights Apply Locally - NYTimes - "Monday's decision did not explicitly strike down the Chicago area laws, ordering a federal appeals court to reconsider its ruling. But it left little doubt that they would eventually fall." - Getting an admission of TRUTH out of these jerk left-wing so-called "journalists" is like pulling teeth!

'We are a country of laws not a nation of guns.'" - This Chicago scumbag, son of another famous Chicago scumbag is a real piece of work, ain't he?! These are the types of scum in both parties who have been covering up (see the videos listed below) the truth about the JFK, RFK and MLK assassinations for decades. Enough is enough. Gun Control Laws, by Thomas Sowell - TownHall - "If the public doesn't like the rules, or the consequences to which the rules lead, then the public can change the rules via the ballot box. But that is very different from judges changing the rules by verbal sleight of hand, or by talking about 'weighing of the constitutional right to bear arms' against other considerations, as Justice Breyer puts it. That's not his job. Not if 'we the people' are to govern ourselves, as the Constitution says."

The Fed Has Lost It; Publishes Essay Bashing Bloggers, Tells General Public To Broadly Ignore Those Without An Econ PhD, by Tyler Durden - LewRockwell.com (originally appeared on ZeroHedge) - "Some Fed economist (with a hard-earned Ph.D mind you) named Kartik Athreya (who lasted at Citigroup as an associate Vice President for a whopping 7 months before getting sacked in 1998 only to find solace for his expiring unemployment benefits in the public sector) has written the most idiotic "research" piece to come out of the Federal Reserve since 1913, and the Fed has written a lot of idiotic research since then – after all you don't destroy 98% of the dollar's purchasing power in 97 years with non-idiotic research." for your convenience, I have downloaded the moronic "Economics Is Hard. RBS tells clients to prepare for 'monster' money-printing by the Federal Reserve - Telegraph - Hang on to your hats, folks, hyperflation is almost upon us! You can't create prosperity by raising taxes and printing money. You have to make REAL things and sell them to willing customers who want to buy them voluntarily in a free marketplace!

The Third Depression, by Paul Krugman - NYTimes - "And this third depression will be primarily a failure of policy. Around the world — most recently at last weekend’s deeply discouraging G-20 meeting — governments are obsessing about inflation when the real threat is deflation, preaching the need for belt-tightening when the real problem is inadequate spending." - Krugman is the prototypical Economics-101-illiterate laughing-stock liberal. It is self-evidently impossible to spend what you don't have unless you 1) raise more tax revenues, or 2) or print more money, or both. And even that statement is true only if you are scumbag criminal treasonous-to-the-U.S.Constitution coercion-based gubmint. In the harsh reality of a REAL, material, physical, action-consequence, cause-and-effect universe, prosperity is created by making REAL things and selling them to willing customers who want to voluntarily buy them in a free marketplace! JFK and RFK: The Plots that Killed Them, The Patsies that Didn't, by Professor James H. Fetzer - The official lying-through-their-stinkin'-teeth "gubmint" versions debunked in a way that will make your blood boil: "The assassinations of RFK and JFK were both conspiracies. Both involved the destruction of evidence. Both involved the fabrication of evidence. Both involved framing their patsies. Both involved complicity by local officials. Both involved planning by the CIA. Both were used to deny the American people of the right to be governed by leaders of their own choosing. My purpose here is to outline how these things are done, because the agencies responsible for these events continue to employ the same techniques, not only of killing their targets but of covering them up. The more we understand how these things are done, the less likely we are to be deceived again."
