Will the "art" of demonization eventually lead us to Civil War II?

Although what has come to be popularly known as "demonization" or the "politics1 of personal destruction" has probably been in existence as long as the human race, it came to the forefront as a subject of philosophy with Nazi philosopher Carl Schmitt, of whom people like Adolf Hitler, his propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, Reichfürer-SS, Heinrich Himmler and Hitler's designated successor, Hermann Goering, were big fans. To  paraphrase Amazon.com's review of a new book2 by Raphael Gross, "His [Schmitt's] influential polarities of 'friend and foe,' 'law and nomos,' 'behemoth and Leviathan,' and 'ketechon and Antichrist' emerged from a conceptual template in which 'the Jew' is defined as adversary, undermining the Christian order with secularization. The presence of this template at the heart of Schmitt's work, Gross contends, calls for a major reassessment of Schmitt's role within contemporary cultural and legal theory."

Dick Morris wrote an article titled "Negative Campaigning is Good for America"3.  And Drudge linked a story from CBS News, Dean Reynolds titled "Reporter's Notebook: Seeing How The Other Half Lives" about Obama's airplane smelling "terrible most of the time"4.

Following is a collage of quotes from the Morris article:

“Political assaults help uncover pols’ flaws for the voters…Voters see negative advertising as another form of information. They so distrust politicians that they want to see their opponents tear them down so they can get at the truth. In fact, voter attitudes toward politicians are akin to their opinions of criminal defendants (they could be forgiven for confusing the two). Just as juries want a prosecutor who tears the defendant apart and punches holes in his alibi, so they want a political candidate to run ads exposing his opponent….”

“Voters have a skilled baloney detector embedded in their consciousness. They know that politicians who have proclaimed their own honesty have ended up in prison, while others who say “read my lips, no new taxes” have broken their solemn vows and jacked up rates anyway. So they watch all television with suspicion….”

“To work, negative ads must be believable.…Paint a picture. Negatives must be thematic….It is only when the negative campaign paints a consistent picture that it can work….Positive ads that explain a program, develop a theme, or spell out hot-button issues are still the most effective communications in politics. But negative ads work and have their place. They are how the voters find truth in a morass of claims and counterclaims. With much of the media oriented toward the left or the right, negative ads are often the only way voters can penetrate the claims of the various campaigns and get the facts.”

“Voters always tell pollsters that they hate negative ads, but politicians continue to run them. That’s because the same polls show that they work. In a world with flawed politicians, we need negative ads; otherwise, we won’t know candidates’ defects until it’s too late.”

There you have it, spoken by a pro. While Morris is good at explaining the process, Hitler, Goebbels and their Nazi buddies were world-class at actually doing it: "Ya, ve haff vays of making you co-operate. Stand in line for your Big Bailout, and when you get to the front of the line and find the bucket full of water, stick your head in it and drown yourself like a good little Jew!"

Other world-class jackboot demonizers are the IRS and their lawyers, the U.S. Attorneys, with their lying revisionist-history and class-warfare "X is not paying his/her 'fair share' of taxes" arguments. Of course, truth be known, they are all creatures created by Congress enabled by various provably lying Supreme Court majorities. So we've come full circle back to the same control-freak jerks and jackals who brought us The Big Bailout and its causes all the way back past FDR to Civil War I.

It is really sickening how the politicians have to have the right haircuts, the right clothes, the right body language and the right endlessly rehearsed faux-benign voice. You can't gesture with a fist or a pointed finger, even if you're being sincere, because that's too threatening. Oh no! You have to put the print of your thumb on the side of the last phalange of your index finger, like JFK did. You can never say you're angry or offended because that will turn off undecided and "independent" voters. So you have to say you're "disappointed" because that sounds ever so much more benign, reasonable, calm and reassuring. I tell you, all this wannabe-cleverness — e.g. "That depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" — is enough to make a billy goat puke, and they'll swallow anything!

"Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Hermann Wilhelm Goering at the Nuremberg trials.

If, as Goering said, it's a "simple matter" for the GOP/DEMs to drag "the people" into a war, just imagine how simple it is to, with false promises of "something for nothing", lure people into tolerating and being victimized by an utterly corrupt and unconstitutional monetary and taxation system!

This is the great deception of the fascist/neo-feudalist5: first s/he uses simplistic and misleading collectivist (socialistic and/or communistic) arguments of police power to justify wealth redistribution and appeal to the indolent, the greedy, the unfortunate, and the altruistic for votes; then, having prevailed in the arena of public opinion and acquired the power to redistribute wealth, s/he steals it from the taxpayer and uses capitalistic free-enterprise liberty and property rights arguments to put the lion's share of the loot into his own privately owned corporate and bureaucratic pockets. Such practice is exceedingly clever, to be sure — even clever enough to fool some lawyers, politicians and courts who have apparently given little thought to economics and the natural laws of justice — but the practice is not so clever as to be entirely invisible to the people, and it is guaranteed in the end, as predicted by Justice Brandeis in his famous Olmstead6 dissent, to precipitate a terrible retribution.  This is so because the safety and welfare of the WHOLE public is harmed by the deception.

That's why it's long past time to vote 3rd party, or anybody but the GOP/DEMs.

1. Always remember, "politics" = person or group A trying to persuade person or group B to obey the will of A, most frequently for the personal financial benefit of A and to the personal financial detriment (higher taxes) of B. That is why deception = the so-called "art" of politics. That is also why "politician" = professional deceiver.

4. To witness the sad state of politics in America, read the talk string (aka comment section) of this article. You will discover whole new meanings for the word "moron".

5. Fascism = private enterprise under centralized governmental control. Both the Change Clown and McDole fit this description and favor and defend such a system. Meanwhile, the fascist owners of the debt-based fiat international monetary system couldn't care less whether "government" goes into debt for "national security" hardware (GOP) or for welfare payments for single unwed mothers (DEMS) — they just want to keep collecting the interest on the fraudulent fiat national debt. See my essay "The 'Financial Tsunami' is here!" especially footnote 5.

6. Olmstead v. U.S., 277 U.S. 438 (1928). The following quotes are from Justice Louis Brandeis's famous dissent.

"When the Fourth and Fifth Amendments were adopted, 'the form that evil had theretofore taken' had been necessarily simple. Force and violence were then the only means known to man by which a government could directly effect self-incrimination. It could compel the individual to testify — a compulsion effected, if need be, by torture. It could secure possession of his papers and other articles incident to his private life-a seizure effected, if need be, by breaking and entry. Protection against such invasion of 'the sanctities of a man's home and the privacies of life' was provided in the Fourth and Fifth Amendments by specific language."

"The makers of our Constitution undertook to secure conditions favorable to the pursuit of happiness. They recognized the significance of man's spiritual nature, of his feelings and of his intellect. They knew that only a part of the pain, pleasure and satisfactions of life are to be found in material things. They sought to protect Americans in their beliefs, their thoughts, their emotions and their sensations. They conferred, as against the government, the right to be let alone — the most comprehensive of rights and the right most valued by civilized men."

"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."

"Decency, security, and liberty alike demand that government officials shall be subjected to the same rules of conduct that are commands to the citizen. In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously."

"If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that in the administration of the criminal law the end justifies the means — to declare that the government may commit crimes in order to secure the conviction of a private criminal — would bring terrible retribution. Against that pernicious doctrine this court should resolutely set its face. "
